There are numerous global trends that are influencing economic and socio-political decisions around the world today. Some of these trends include:
As EDB officers, the participants have been assigned to work within Amoeba Teams to identify a new or emerging industry to develop in Singapore in response to the global trends identified above! The objectives of developing this industry are to:
- Increase Singapore's economic growth
- Create high value jobs for Singaporeans
The Amoeba teams have three days to complete the project! They have to:
- Analyse and explain why the industry was chosen
- Outline strategies and execution plans on how EDB and the rest of the government should go about building up this industry in Singapore
- Industry should be ready to meet our globa needs by 2020
Overviews of industries which EDB is already developing can be found on EDB's website. Each Amoeba team willbe given full ownership of this project! It is fully up to each team to address the issues faced and come up with specific recommendations and execution strategies!
