The Judges

Mr Yeoh Keat Chuan
As the Assistant Managing Director of EDB, Mr Yeoh Keat Chuan is a man to be reckoned with. Since 1 January 2010, Keat Chuan has been overseeing the agency’s investment promotion efforts in clean technology, electronics, infocomms media, precision engineering and transport engineering sectors. If that was not enough to garner a wow, then it might be interesting to note that Keat Chuan concurrently holds the position of International Director, Americas. He is responsible for 7 EDB offices in North America from the Big Apple to the Silicon Valley.
Mr Jonathan Kua
Mr Jonathan Kua is EDB’s Marco Polo. As the Director of the New Businesses Group at EDB, Jonathan telescopes for new industrial destinations, explores new growth industries and charters strategic directions for Singapore. Before setting sail, Jonathan was Regional Director for Western US, leading the San Francisco and Los Angeles centers.
Ms Angeline Poh Chai Li
Ms Angeline’s appointment is an exotic mix of the savviness and tactics. As the Director of InfoComms and Media (ICM), Angeline oversees the development of Singapore’s Telecoms and Networks as well as Media and Digital Entertainment (MDE) sectors. Her other role as the Director of Strategic Planning puts her on the chess master’s seat, where she directs EDB’s long term planning and strategy development. Her concurrent appointment in the National Research Foundation’s Interaction and Digital Media Programme Office adds a nice garnish to her, if not already, unique cocktail of posts.
Mr Toh Wee Khiang
Mr Toh’s favourite colour is green. That should explain his role as the Executive Director for Building and Infrastructure Solutions Division, a wing under EDB that seeks tap on the increasing demand for sustainable solutions in such areas. Wee Khiang is also the Executive Director for EDB’s Human Capital Division, ensuring that Singapore has ample manpower to support and drive the manufacturing and exportable services industries. On top of these, as the Director for the Urban Solutions Program Office, Wee Khiang leads his team to develop Singapore as a test bed for sustainable urban development, and to eventually export such solutions to the rest of Asia.
Mr Chiu Wen Tung
You can’t really talk about iPads without mentioning Steve Jobs. Neither can you mention resource development at EDB without bringing up Mr Chiu Wen Tung’s name. As the Director for the Resource Development Division at EDB, Wen Tung does modern David Ricardo by identifying, developing and materialising comparative advantages in terms of Singapore’s resources.
